What is a Speech Language Pathologist?

Speech-Language Pathologists or speech therapists evaluate, diagnose, treat, and work to facilitate and/or rehabilitate Speech, language, cognition, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related communication disorders.

Our goal is to support and nurture learning, using community resources such as your medical team and families to achieve the maximum level of function.

The process

A referral from a doctor is needed for speech language evaluation, or your insurance company may refer you to us; once the Speech evaluation is conducted, a diagnosis is formulated and therapy is scheduled to begin. The Speech Language Pathologist will follow the client's progress until the goals are reached.
